Privacy Policy

How Concreting Services collects, uses, shares and protects personal information — for quote requests, guide downloads, phone calls and text messages, and orders from our materials store.

Last updated: 6 October 2026 · Questions? Email info@concreting.ca or call (519) 362-1601.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to quote and build your project, supply your order, or answer your question — and nothing more.
  • Requesting a quote does not sign you up for marketing. Email and text marketing only happen if you tick the opt-in box, and every message tells you how to stop.
  • We never sell or rent your personal information.
  • We share it only with the service providers that run parts of our business (analytics, phone/SMS, CRM, payments, hosting) as described below.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time — details in section 8.

1. Who we are

Concreting Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a structural concrete contractor based in Burlington, Ontario, serving Halton Region and the Greater Toronto Area. We install insulated concrete form (ICF) walls, suspended slabs, elevated concrete decks, foundations and site concrete, and we sell related construction materials through our store.

For the purposes of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario’s consumer protection laws, we are the organisation responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Our privacy contact is listed in section 13.

2. What we collect, and why

What you doWhat we collectWhy

Download a free guideName, email, optional phone, and which guide you asked forTo send the guide and follow up on the topic you asked about
Use the ICF cost calculatorNothing personal. The calculation runs in your browser; we receive only an anonymous “calculator used” analytics event with a cost rangeTo measure whether the tool is useful
Call or text usYour number, the time and duration of the call, whether it was answered, and — if you leave one — a voicemail recording. For text messages, your number and the message contentTo respond, and to text you back if we miss your call
Order from our storeName, billing and shipping or pickup details, email, phone, order contents, and delivery notes. We never receive or store your card number — payments are handled by our payment processorTo fulfil your order, arrange pickup or delivery, and meet tax and warranty obligations
Browse the siteIP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and marketing parameters such as utm_*, gclid or fbclid (see section 3)To run and secure the site and to measure our advertising

Attribution detail: when you arrive from an ad, a search result or a campaign link, we record the campaign parameters that brought you here — including the landing page and referring page — so that when you contact us we know which channel to credit. These values are stored in a first-touch cookie for 90 days and are attached to your enquiry if you submit a form.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We keep cookie use deliberately light. These are the categories in use:

CategoryExamplesLifetimePurpose
EssentialWordPress session cookies, woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*, security cookiesSession to 48 hoursKeep your cart and any login working, and protect forms from abuse. The site cannot function without these
Attributioncs_first_touch, cs_landing90 daysRemember which campaign or page first brought you to the site, so we can credit the right channel when you enquire
Analytics_ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4)Up to 14 months, per our GA4 retention settingUnderstand which pages and services people look for, in aggregate. IP addresses are anonymised
Advertising_gcl_au, gclid, and cookies set by Google Ads or a call-tracking providerUp to 90 daysMeasure which ads produce enquiries, and attribute phone calls to the right campaign
Third-party chatCookies set by a chat provider, only if a chat widget is enabledSet by that providerLet you start a chat with us and continue it if you return

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use private browsing to avoid them entirely. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies does not stop you from requesting a quote or ordering — only the measurement stops. Where we run advertising in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask for consent before setting advertising cookies.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond and quote — contacting you about your enquiry, arranging a site visit, and preparing an estimate.
  • To deliver what you asked for — sending a guide you requested, fulfilling store orders, arranging pickup or delivery.
  • To communicate about a project — scheduling, changes, safety, and post-completion warranty matters.
  • Marketing, only with your consent — occasional project updates, seasonal reminders such as sealing or winter protection, and new guides. See section 6.
  • To run and improve the business — aggregate analytics, measuring which advertising works, and internal reporting.
  • To meet our obligations — invoices and tax records, insurance and WSIB documentation, warranty and defect claims, and fraud or abuse prevention.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only as much as they need:

Provider typeWhat they receiveWhy

SMS provider (e.g. Twilio) or automation platformYour phone number and message contentTo send a text-back if we miss your call, or a message you asked for
CRM / automation platform [name]Your enquiry details, so the team can follow upTo track and reply to enquiries reliably
Payment processor and delivery partnersPayment confirmation and the address or pickup details needed to complete your orderTo take payment and get materials to you
Professional advisers and authoritiesOnly what is requiredAccountants and insurers; or where we are legally required to disclose, or need to establish or defend a legal claim

Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under foreign law. We choose providers with contractual privacy and security commitments, but we cannot control foreign legal access.

6. Email and text marketing (CASL)

We follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. That means:

  • Marketing email and text messages are sent only with your express consent — the separate opt-in checkbox on our forms, which is never pre-ticked and never bundled with your quote request.
  • Every message identifies us as the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link (or a STOP instruction for texts).
  • We act on an unsubscribe without delay and within 10 business days at the latest, and keep a minimal suppression record so we don’t contact you again by mistake.
  • If you are an existing customer, we may send messages about your project, an order, or related services on the basis of that relationship — you can opt out at any time.
  • Service messages about a quote, order or site visit are transactional, not marketing, and are sent regardless of marketing preferences.

7. How long we keep it

RecordRetention
Quote requests and enquiries that don’t become projectsUp to 24 months from last contact, then deleted or anonymised
Customer, project, invoice and warranty recordsAt least six years after the end of the last tax year, as required for tax and warranty purposes
Guide subscribersUntil you unsubscribe, plus a minimal suppression entry
Call recordings, where recording is enabledUp to 12 months
Analytics dataUp to 14 months in Google Analytics 4
Server and security logsUp to 12 months

8. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive an account of how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time, or ask us to delete information we no longer need.
  • Ask us to stop processing information for a particular purpose, where the law allows.
  • Ask about our practices and policies relating to personal information.

To make a request, contact our privacy contact in section 13. We respond within 30 days, and we may need to verify your identity first. In limited cases we may be unable to fulfil a request — for example, records we must keep for tax or warranty purposes, or information belonging to another person — and we will explain why.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (ipc.on.ca). We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.

9. How we protect it

  • The site is served over TLS (HTTPS), and form submissions are transmitted encrypted.
  • Access to lead, customer and order records is limited to staff and contractors who need it, behind individual accounts and passwords.
  • Card payments are processed by a payment provider; card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Forms include spam and abuse protections, and submissions are logged for security review.
  • We keep software and plugins updated and take backups, so we can restore service and data after an incident.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.

10. Children

Our website and services are aimed at adults arranging construction work or buying materials. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to other sites

Our site links to third-party sites — manufacturers, suppliers, review platforms and social media. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them. Check their policies before providing personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our tools, providers or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
